Welcome to 2022
Please excuse what seems like lack of contact recently but I can assure you that I have been working extremely hard in the background to bring you an exciting year ahead with the expansion of the CMCC Classic Series, expanding our Mallory meeting to a two day event and an exciting new project at Silverstone.
CMMC gain a new Series
CMMC are pleased to announce that the Mike Hawthorn & XK Challenge has come under the wing of the Club now that the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club no longer wishes to have a competition side. Run by long standing Jaguar enthusiast, Chris Robinson, it will run alongside the Ecurie Classic Racing Series (see www.ecurieclassicracing.co.uk ), which is also associated with CMMC.
Mallory meeting is now 2 days and moves to May 21st/22nd
Our ever popular Mallory Park Motorsport Festival has moved from its traditional mid June date to May 21st/2nd so that it can be expanded to two days. MAKE A NOTE OF THAT IN YOUR DIARY NOW. More details will be forthcoming but there will be even more variety with the Pick Ups racing as well.
Here’s a date you will not want to miss
Sunday, July 17th, SILVERSTONE
We have managed to acquire a date on the Silverstone National Circuit and like Mallory, it will encompass more than just on track activity. Already nearly full with spectacular racing including Mighty Minis, TARC Series, 116 Trophy, Anglo American Challenge, races for 50s/60s cars, Modern Challenge (inc WRDA) and Aston Martins (they are the favoured marque). More details will follow shortly. AGAIN, MAKE A NOTE IN YOUR DIARY NOW
CMMC now has some offices.
The Club has outgrown my home office area and a decision was made to take on some office space, albeit not that large, in central Trowbridge. Hopefully this will also enable us to take on an enthusiastic ‘apprentice’ as well to share the ever increasing work load. This will also enable us to continue, where possible, some kind of ‘hospitality’ (including printed copies of results) at all our events/races.
